domestically, we ship FedEx ground within 2-3 business days of order. you will recieve tracking info via email. time in transit depends on where you live (and how far you are from our studio in NY). express shipping can be arranged. 

to minimize environmental impact, we often re-use boxes and packing materials from suppliers (we do not buy plastic/styrofoam, but do re-use what is shipped to us). please note: furniture and custom items ship directly from our suppliers.

you may return an item within 30 days for exchange or ROMP credit ONLY. returns beyond this period may incur a restocking fee. credits are valid for 1 year. special orders and sale items are non-returnable. for any wallpaper silhouette returns, please see below. 

returned merchandise must be unused and have original packaging and tags intact. returns must be well packed and insured for their full value. we cannot assume responsibility for return fees or problems in transit. original shipping fees are non-refundable.

damage/defect claims must be made within 5 days of receipt of goods. in case of damage in shipping, FedEx may require an inspection, so please retain packing materials.

are they difficult to install? that depends. the animals are relatively simple for a novice to install. the tree is a bit more complicated, though absolutely do-able. some of our customers feel more comfortable hiring pros for larger installations.

are they removable? they are removable should you move or tire of them. they are not re-usable. please note: removal may damage walls slightly. ease of removal depends on many factors: existing wall condition, the amount of glue,  environmental conditions that may may affect adhesion (sun, light, humidity, etc) and how long you leave it up. in any case, dmamage (if any) should be minor.

what are they made of?  each wallpaper silhouette is made of actual wallpaper. all silhouettes are handmade - variations in pattern, color, etc are by design. about 95% of the wallpapers are vintage and in limited supply. patterns are subject to change without notice. we do our best to represent color and pattern, but can not accept responsibility for variations.

will the tree look exactly as pictured?  no, the leaf patterns vary. each month represents a colorway and distribution of color. your particular patterns and the way you choose to group the leaves guarntees the tree is unique and yours alone!

is it possible to get an animal in another pattern?  yes! please contact us for details, but in theory, all animals are available in any pattern. please note that special order policies may apply (see below).

what about a shark? a dinosaur? a cow?  sorry, but at this time we only have the silhouettes shown. please join our mailing list for future patterns and silhouettes. looking for something more sophisticated? visit TWINE for a few grown-up silhouettes.

what if I don't like the pattern?  do not open the silhouette! each tube is packed with a large sample of the wallpaper on the outside. please note that we can only accept undamaged and UNOPENED articles. if you have opened the silhouette, we cannot accept it for return!

are they fragile?  yes! please do not open your wallpaper silhouette until you are ready to hang it. please note that we can only accept undamaged and UNOPENED articles. if you have opened the silhouette, we cannot accept it for return!

what is the paste made of?  methyl cellulose, a wheat-based chemical compound which dissolves in water. methyl cellulose is also used as an emulsifier in foods and other products. it is non-toxic and non-allergenic.

how are they made?  each silhouette is cut by hand in inke heiland's workshop in holland. each silhouette provides meaningful work to an eager group of developmentaly disabled adults.

how long will it take for me to get my order?  wallpaper silhouettes are made to order and have a 4-5 week leadtime (including shipping). they will ship to you directly from the artist in holland. in some cases, we have silhouettes in stock in our ny studio and can get them to you much faster. our current stock is designated as *on sale* in-stock patterns.
